Arthroscopic Surgery
Sometimes an injury can be treated with arthroscopic surgery, which involves inserting small instruments through tiny incisions (about 1/4”) around the affected joint. One of these instruments is a camera‚ allowing us to view the joint on a screen.
Arthroscopic surgery allows us to visualize more of the joint surface than a traditional open incision would, allowing easier diagnosis and treatment of many conditions. Often, patients opt for arthroscopic surgery as it provides a shorter recovery period.
